This function parses a message and returns the error code.

Syntax

Parameters

ld

[in] Session handle.

res

[in] Result of an LDAP operation as returned by ldap_resultor one of the synchronous API operation calls.

freeit

[in] Determines whether the LDAPMessagemessage pointed to by the resparameter is freed. Setting freeitto TRUE frees the message by calling the ldap_msgfreefunction.

Return Value

This function returns the error code for the given parameter. See the LDAP_RETCODEenumeration for a list of possible return values.

Remarks

In a multithreading environment, calls to this function are thread-safe.
