The SetCapabilitymethod is used by Messaging to set the capabilities that are supported by the transport.

Syntax

HRESULT SetCapability (
  LPCWSTR 
pszName,
  LPSPropValue 
pval
);

Parameters

pszName

[in] String value for a setting that the transport maintains. See MAPI Boolean Service Capability Constantsfor the list of valid values.

pval

[in] Supplies an instance of an SPropValuestructure that contains the value to set for the capability. There is no need to free this buffer or hold onto it. It is valid only for the duration of the call.

Return Value

This method returns the standard values E_INVALIDARG, E_OUTOFMEMORY, E_UNEXPECTED, and E_FAIL, as well as the following:

S_OK

Indicates success.

MAPI_E_NOT_FOUND

Indicates the capability setting is not maintained by the transport.
